LA PAZ -- Just five days into his presidency Bolivia's Jorge Quiroga faced accusations of plagiarism Saturday, as a press report revealed he may have borrowed too heavily in his speech from his apparent role model, the late U.S. President John F. Kennedy. Quiroga was sworn in before Congress on Tuesday, one day after cancer-stricken former president Hugo Banzer resigned for health reasons. The ceremony culminated in a rousing inaugural address, in which Quiroga, 41, promised to bring to his countrymen social peace and prosperity. But, according to the weekly ***Pulso***, portions of this speech were delivered 40 years ago by a youthful U.S. president also eager to take his country to new frontiers.
